Andrew Carnegie- Wealth
“The poor enjoy what the rich could not before afford.” Andrew Carnegie is comparing how now the workers can buy the luxuries that in older times where impossible or hard for even the rich to acquire. Basically Andrew Carnegie is stating the labors are lucky that now that are able to afford these things that once was so rare.

Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln became the president of the united states in 1860’s. Abraham Lincoln was against slavery. He said that the country was just saying that everyone was created equal given the exception to Negros and he felt that that was wrong. Lincoln worked hard to get rid of slavery but he was assassinated in 1865. That was when the American Civil war started and ended slavery.
Susan B Anthony's Statement at the Close of her Trial
Susan B Anthony:
“Your denial of my citizens right to vote is the denial of my right of consent as one of the governed, the denial of my right of representation as one of the taxed, the denial of my right to a trial by a jury of my peers as an offender against the law, therefore the denial of my sacred rights to life liberty, property”
Susan B Anthony was telling the judge why she was not guilty. Also she was stating that it was unjust for women not to be allowed to vote that it took away all there rights. She says that she is denied the right to vote but yet she is being taxed and she is denied the right to a jury but yet she is an offender against the law. Susan says that is the reasons why she is denied the right to life, liberty, and property.

Brown vs Board of Education
African American students were not allowed to go to the same public schools as the white students. Brown said it was unconstitutional to segregate the blacks from the whites. Brown stated how segregating the blacks from whites made the blacks feel inferior to the whites therefore affecting there education. Also stated was the fact that separate but equal was not really equal and they ask for the right of the 14th amendment to be given to them. Brown won his case but it took some time for it to actually take effect.
